Pattern Cut decorative Filter Grilles accentuate any room. They can be painted to match your walls or stained to match your trim. These filter grilles come in 26 different designs for you to choose from. These wooden grilles are measured by the size of the duct opening in your wall. Measure your return air duct opening width x height. For example, if your duct opening is 10" wide x 6" high you would order a 10 x 6 return air grille. The actual faceplate of the grille will then be 2" larger (in this example the faceplate will be 12" x 8"). These grilles are constructed from a 1/4" thick Baltic Birch ply. For the face of the return air vent, you have the option of choosing between Maple, Oak, or a Cherry Veneer. If you will be painting the grille, the manufacturer recommends you select the maple veneer. They are shipped to you sanded and ready to be finished however you'd like.
Each grille includes a filter frame which is installed in the opening. A dark blue 1" filter is also included with purchase as well as a removable filter door that is held into place with brass thumb screws and all hardware needed for installation.

How to Paint your wood return decorative wall grille
- Choose a good lacquer, shellac, oil, or water based primer.
- Thin the primer.
- Using a soft brush, work the primer over the surface of the wood return grille.
- Apply two this coats rather than one thick coat.
- Using a spray, brush, or roller apply two coats of paint.
- Allow the decorative wall grille to dry before installing in your home.
How to Stain your Wood Return Decorative Wall Grille
- Submerge your wood return grille into a pan filled with stain.
- Wipe off excess stain and allow to dry in an upright position.
- Lay the decorative wall grille flat and spray 2 - 3 coats with a lacquer sanding sealer.
- Apply one coat to the back of the grille to completely seal the wood.
- Sand the grille with a piece of 220 grit sandpaper.
- Lay the grille the flat and spray with a clear lacquer, spraying a light first coat and a heavier second coat.
- Allow to cure for three days before installing.
These filter grilles are meant to be used in the wall and ceiling only.
